Suspicious fire info ABC's John Stossel did a 20/20 segment about Peter. The piece aired Friday, June 9th, 2000.

Two days later, on Sunday, June 11th, a fire at Peter's home burned all his computer equipment, including the book he was writing about his battle against the federal government's unjust treatment of sick people who need medical marijuana.

The firefighters don't know the cause of the blaze.

Three days after that, on Wednesday, June 14th — and in spite of the fact that his life-threatening illnesses were largely in remission — Peter suddenly died.

John Stossel's brave 20/20 segment on Peter In this segment, ABC's John Stossel shows you what journalists used to do.

He reports fairly and accurately on the injustice Peter suffered at the hands of overzealous Federal prosecutors and a despotic California judge (appropriately named George King) who did not permit McWilliams to defend himself in court.
